In what doubtless will perpetuate the notion that Democrats are nothing more than conspiracy-minded crybabies, Dennis Kucinich is demanding a recount of the votes in the New Hampshire primary (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/). Dennis, who only received 3% of the vote, is nevertheless concerned that the pollster’s prediction of a landslide Obama victory give cause to a recount effort.
Never before have the pollsters been such major players in the political game. Their mission seems to be the self-fulfilling prophesy because everyone loves a winner, especially if everyone knows in advance who the winner’s going to be. The pollster’s failure to predict Hillary’s win in New Hampshire (http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/01/09/countdown-new-hampshire-poll-nightmare-was-it-the-polling-or-the-reporting/) rocked the pundit world to such a degree that pundits spent several days analyzing other pundits as to how they all could get it so wrong. Even something called the “Bradley Effect” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_effect) was trotted out in an attempt to explain Obama’s sudden and climactic failure to be elected president after only 2 primaries. Fact of the matter is, the pollsters pretty much did get it right about Obama’s support in the take-it-for-granted state. They were saying he’d get about 36% of the vote and he ended up with just over 35%.
What the polls underestimated was the turn-out for Hillary. I truly believe the little emotional moment she shared with the world Monday tipped the scales in her favor. Gone was the robotic functionary, replaced by an Actual Woman. Too bad women are still caught in that calculating bitch/emotional basket-case dilemma, but this time it worked in Clinton’s favor. Look for all the candidates now to get a little weepy and whiny from here on out just to snag a few soccer mom votes, but so far only Kucinich has taken the bait.
Hooray for Scooter, great to hear him back on your show last night!!!! I would love it for Scooter to return to do his Saturday “rant” show, but doubt Larson, et. al., would ever allow it.
I presume Larson’s hoping that Stacy will grab some ratings by “mixing it up” a bit on the otherwise wacky right wing goon station!! But, down deep, you know that Larson despises Stacy, Scooter, and all of us who have half a brain.
To Larson, Albert, and their ilk, “freedom of speech” means having EVERY talk station in San Diego a right wing echo chamber (KOGO,KFMB, KCBQ, KPRZ, AM1700, did I miss any??), with ONE token show (Stacy) to the “liberals”.

As if to comfirm this viewpoint, KUSI’s poll today asks “If the California Democratic primary were being held tomorrow, whom would you vote for?”
They give us 4 choices: hillary, obama, edwards and ‘others’. Others?

Dear Mr. Fish,
You happen to be on all boards with the words “Stacy Taylor”. You obviously need to be analized. Thank Gawd it’s by me. I do qualify, as I live in a whole house full of nuts and NO! you can’t move in. Let’s just get real. You get on his blogs and use the old argument ploy to be closer to Stacy. Any arguments with your regressive politics will never touch a nerve and in fact it excites you, so you can keep writing. Face the facts….YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH THE FAMOUS STACY TAYLOR!!! Please see a shrink soon. Your mother will love you and I was going to say that we might…but that would be an evil joke

Dear Mr. Fish,
One last note for this comment segment…Thank YOU for even including me and the Grand Master Ranter Scott in the same breath. I haven’t taken any ranting lessons from him. But I can zero in on what’s important in life. That’s something you need to do. Instead of OCDing on previous hosts on KLSD, you should pool all of your efforts together and do something meaningful. Do I talk to people like this face to face? Only if they need a lesson in civility. Yes my mother loves me. I’m her caregiver. It’s something people do everyday in SD. Now go out there and make sure we have the final elections, that Bush doesn’t blow up the world, and the Chargers win the Pats dammit!

Scooter is the BEST!
It sure was great to be able to listen to at least one guy on AM Radio who provided a tiny bit of balance to all the Rush Limbaugh wannabies who permeate the airwaves these days. It’s laughable to read posts by the righties and other morons who call Scooter a jerk. The revolting nonsense from right-wing hate-radio (and from Fox, the Anti-Union Tribune, etc. etc.) is ten times worse than anything Scooter ever said.
We miss you, Scooter, and Welcome Back Stacy!

Well, the following are idiots, certainly…
Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Neal Boortz, Michael Savage, Bill O’Reilly, Ann Coulter, Michael Medved, Laura Ingraham, Mike Gallagher, Roger Hedgecock…
The list goes on and on — a horde of right-wing radio hosts and media types who are just a bunch of Rush Limbaugh wannabes, dominating our airwaves. Certainly they are a bunch of idiots.
Scooter on the other hand is certainly not an idiot, as anyone who listened to him knows. He’s bright, articulate, and spot-on when it comes to the issues. It was great to have him on to counter the righty idiocy that permeates radio these days.
