Plus there’s a deadline approaching: fall recess. Both parties are itching to get this complicated crap behind them so they can hit the campaign trail again, huckstering Hope and Change to the Great Unwashed while the Wall Street grifters work the crowd, picking our pockets and fleecing our sheep.
