I want to take this oppurtunity to thank Tim from Normal Heights for calling in today. Although always entertaining today he was in top funny form. I loved his "story" about Hillary campaigning to the inbred population of West Virginny and Bill in the jug(two great big 'ol__) band. I nearly had to pull over on El Cajon Blvd ion North Park I was laughing so hard.

And I second the motion to have a listener party. I'll take off work if I have too. Liars Club would be fine with me, I'll drive from North Park to Alpine...

I would like to nominate him as next week’s Republican of the Week. Anyone want to second my motion? mutt, what do you say?
heck yeah! We dont have to travel far afield to find nasty wingnuts. he's "reformed" is he?
Abortion as birth control? sorta like turning you car upside down to change the oil, but he is running up against an idea I had forever: taco truck sized vasectomy/ligation vans, going around nieghborhoods on a regular route.... lets add first trimester abortion capabilities! itll have a snappy jingle, so you hear it comin, like ice cream trucks...."Dont Fear the Reaper"?
Rather than the customers paying for the service, the customers will GET paid- tuition- trade school, liberal arts, whatever. Cash? Gold plated hubcaps?? Cell phone minutes? Dont care, whatever gets them in the door........
We'll credit Rep. Wingnut with the idea........
and what about this meetup?? Huh? Huh??

To all who read mutt's republican of the week, if you scroll down and look at the left column, there's our own former homosexual James Hartline: http://hartline08.com/ He is running for seat 3 in the San Diego City Council. He told me that we liberals use abortion as a method of birth control and we're gay lovers, to which I answered, "we welcome you with open arms."

I have been checking out what the kooks on signonsandiego have been saying about any story lately. Like the Rachel Silva case as well. Look, you gotta be really naive to trust law enforcement in general, but to accept their word in this city (and county) as the final word is just plain stupidity. We know who's hands are washing who's and in this city, the DA will ALWAYS cover for the police unless the police officer in question if Greg Pyer, who murdered Cara Knott (and almost got away with it had it not been for a pattern he had established of pulling over nubiles and attempting that which he actually did the night he killed Knott). Let us not mention that within the past 7 years or so, there had been a problem with police impersonators robbing people that they tricked into pulling over. Let us also not mention that when Rachel Silva and her son got shot at, the police officer in this case, was one: off duty and two: a fucking adult. You don't need to shoot at someone and I guarantee if this was joe citizen, he would fry and the people who condemn Silva would most likely be the same people condemning this "street thug" for shooting a "poor mother who decided to have a few drinks that night."

Then we get to the comments on LeFevre. They have only convinced me that we, as a country, are just getting much stupider by the day. Look, stop pretending that life exists in a vaccuum and that every criminal has to pay their penalty. In this one case (and many others) the penalty is way too stiff. Starting in that time, law enforcement wasn't trying to impose stiffer penalties because they thought the criminals deserved it. No, they only did it because it was bait to turn in someone higher up the chain then you. It's why guys in the MOB started turning rat. You can get the penalty significantly reduced...all you gotta do is give up a name. She didn't (probably because she worried about getting killed if she turned in someone bigger) and she got 10-20 years because of it. All the comments on that board are either about how horrible she is for selling heroin or they say how horrible she is for keeping this secret forever. Well, why don't we punish her for 30+ years of good behavior by throwing her in the Michigan State Pokey and let her serve her time separating her from her family and her son who's still in high school? Look, the world ain't black and white and things like this are the reason for looking at things in a case by case basis.

The reporting at the U-T has always had a con-tilt. That never really bothered me. I mean, it didn't until they ceased looking for the truth in stories. They take law enforcement's word for it and don't really question anything. Sure, they gave us the Randy Cunningham story(and when it came out, local conservative types screamed it was a witch hunt), but what have they done that's ground breaking since then besides stick their tongues up Jerry Sander's bum? The local media as a whole is ridiculous. Unless it's Bob Kittle fighting with Mike Aguirre, we get absolutely no clashes between the press and city hall. Tell me, in what city does that happen? (even though Stacy'g blog was not political, it kinda was)

Keep it real.
